JONATHAN BAILEY
Jonathan Bailey studied at Wells Cathedral School, Cambridge University and the Conservatoire de
Musique in Gagny, France. He has performed at various venues across the UK, including The Purcell
Room, The Globe Theatre, Wells Cathedral and Barbican Hall. As a primary school music teacher he
enjoyed introducing hundreds of children to the joys of community singing and the wonder of
attending high-quality music and theatre events in London. Whilst living in Montreal, he established
the popular ‘L’Oasis Musicale’ concert series at the Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, in which he
performed regularly with the Trio Monbraque and Les Flûtistes de Montréal.
Duo Rêverie
During the long Québec winter of 2012-13 Hannah Roberts Brockow and Jonathan Bailey formed Duo
Rêverie. They were brought together magically, through a mutual love of fine Anglican churches, yoga
and making music with good friends. They were instantly struck by the beautiful sonorous qualities of
the flute and Celtic harp, and at how the myriad stories behind these melodies, plaintive and
profound, seemed to be brought to life by this complementary instrumental combination.
