Shams writes about “Ya Hamam Al Hema”:
This is my original song that I wrote 16 years ago. (2005) It’s about my longing and love to my great
great grand father prophet Mohamed May Divine Peace be upon him; And how peaceful and healed I
feel when I sing for him.

Shams Al Habib, Ph.D. Shams means the sun in the Arabic language.
Dr. Shams is an Egyptian/Canadian Sufi Master, holistic Naturopathic expert, Reiki Master and teacher
as well as an accomplished singer and musician. Shams comes from a distinguished Egyptian art and
music family, her beloved father is the famous Egyptian music composer Ibrahim Ragab.
She has performed Sufi and spiritual music in many events in Egypt, Canada and overseas; including
the Cairo National theatre, Festival Du Monde Arabe, Festival Orientalys, McGill University,
L'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), University of Toronto and multiple Sufi events worldwide
including in Egypt,USA, Cyprus, France, Spain and Morocco.

Music and sound are a central part of her practice. She strongly connects the listeners to a sense of
peace and divinity through her voice and “Oud” playing. Through her work, Shams aims to bring the
heart, body, mind, and spirit into perfect balance.

Dr. Shams Al Habib is founder and owner of "Baraka Canadian Wellness Center," and the developer of
two renowned approaches in self-healing and development: the " Baraka Divine Healing Energy"
which is a new method of Complementary Alternative Medicine, and "Rumi's Ways of Love Sufi
meditation."

She has been offering workshops and meditation circles based on both approaches to large audience
in multiple regions. Dr. Shams is also a massage and reflexology therapist. She is member of: The
Canadian association of Massage and Acupressure - The Association of Holistic Naturopath of Quebec
- The Syndicate of Musicians in Egypt
