Psalm 32
Blessed is the one
whose rebelliousness is forgiven
whose sentence is overturned.
Blessed is the one
whose sin is not retained by the Holy One
whose spirit is without deceit.
When I kept silent
my bones wasted away,
then my groaning lasted all day long.
Day and night your hand felt heavy upon me,
my vitality evaporated
as in a summer drought.
Then I admitted my failings to you
I didn't hide my guilt. I said, “I confess
my transgressions to the Holy One.”
And you carried away the guilt of my brokenness;
for this reason the faithful pray to you
seeking a time to meet with you.
The flood, the great waters won't touch me.
You are my shelter, you protect me from the adversary,
and surround me with redemption songs –
I will instruct you
and show you the way you should go;
I will counsel you with insight …
Do not be like the horse or the mule,
without understanding,
controlled only by bit and bridle,
