Tiflut: “Rashi interprets the word to mean ‘immorality’; The Rambam [ Maimonides ] understood tiflut to mean
‘triviality’.” Rabi Eliezer ben Hurkanos felt that [teaching daughters] would result in “Tiflut”, literally “promiscuity”.
Rambam also interprets Rabi Eliezer ben Hurkanos’ Tiflut to mean ‘a pointless endeavour, a waste of time.’
