but the spiteful heart is pierced
by its own sword, its bows lie broken.

It is better to live with little and have integrity
than to gain abundance with wickedness.
Malevolence destroys itself, its reach fails.

but the Holy One embraces those who draw close.

The Creator knows the days of those who have been justified.

Their inheritance will last forever.
They will not be shamed, even in evil times
In times of famine, they will know abundance.

Wickedness will perish.
Those who hate the Creator are like pastoral glories,
vanishing like morning mist.

Wickedness takes and never gives,
Integrity engenders on-going generosity.
Godde’s consecrated shall inherit a homeland,

but those who curse the Holy One cut themselves off.

Each step is made secure by the Creator

whenever we delight in Godde’s way;
if we stumble we will not fall headlong
because the Eternal One is holding our hand.

I have been young, now I am old –

I have never seen those who draw close to Godde
utterly forsaken.

Integrity lends and gives liberally;
it begets blessing.
Depart from evil, do good
and always follow this way.
