Page 46 - Your Extravagant Kindness
P. 46
ע Eyes ever directed toward you, my Godde,
you free me from that which binds me.
פ Please turn to me, have mercy on me,
for I am alone and afflicted.
צ Save me from this ominous crisis;
my heart is deeply distressed.
ר Release me from my affliction and suffering;
forgive my failures to offer compassion.
I am overwhelmed by injustice and hatred!
ש Shower me with your protection; don't disappoint me
for you are my refuge.
ת Towers of integrity and righteousness watch over me;
for I look to you, O Godde,
you rescue your people from all their distress.

This psalm is an acrostic poem, each line begins with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet, so I set myself the
challenge of recreating the psalmist's acrostic using the equivalent (or near equivalent) sound in English. Note: there was
no “qof” listed in this psalm as found in the TANAKH of the Jewish Publication Society.
