P. 32

Let them fall and not rise
when I try to overcome them.

            Cloth me in your strength,
and that which challenges me will yield –
You will transform these internal foes.

If my inner enemies cry out to you,
Holy One, you need not answer.

They will scatter in the wind
like dust on a dry street.

            You deliver me from striving,

you place me within the nations
among people I have not known
            and they assist me …

            Strangers wait for me,
from afar they hear, they attend to my needs.

            But they lose heart;
            tormented by lost homelands.

And yet … Our Guardian lives!
Praise be to the Ground of our Being!
            Exalt Godde our Saviour!

It is this Godde who lays claim upon us

            who seduces the faithless,
            who saves us from hostility,
who lifts us above our Adversary,

            who rescues us from violence.

            Therefore, O Godde, my Guardian,
            I will praise you

            among the nations
I shall live and praise your name.
