Let me remember this.

Why do I revile you? Why do I lie to my heart
and say, “Godde won't call me to account?”

Creator, you see the trouble

of those who are lost, those who are abandoned,
and you gather their suffering up in your hands...

Therefore we can commit ourselves to you,
you are the helper of the sorrowful.

Restrict the reach of wickedness

bring evil to account before the whole world.

The Creator is Sovereign for ever and ever;

those who despise you will be scattered
even as you, Eternal One, listen to the desires
of those who live with humility;
you hear our cry and encourage us,

defending the vulnerable.

These mortal oppressors,

also formed from earth,
will terrify us no more!
